Prof. M. Ishikawa (CEO of our company) carried out experiments on Earth orbit around the world for the first time with “ionic liquid lithium ion battery” mounted on a satellite developed jointly with Dai-ichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd. and ELEXCEL Co., Ltd.

“Ionic liquid Li ion battery” based on the design showing the possibility of using ionic liquid for the world’s first demonstrated by Prof. M. Ishikawa in 2006 has been developed in collaboration with Dai-ichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd. and ELEXCEL as a storage battery which can withstand operation in outer space which is the ultimate environment of ultra-high vacuum and high radiation.

The first demonstration experiment in the universe was realized in the world.

The experiment will be conducted at “Hodoyoshi 3” developed by Prof. Shinichi Nakasuga et al, Tokyo University. The satellite has been successfully launched and it is in the stage where the basic operation of the satellite has been successfully started. If this experiment is successful, it is expected to bring significant advance not only to satellites but also power supply systems in outer space. In addition, our company will do analysis of future test data.
